The expertise and care your kids deserve

Mental healthcare for young minds

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in anxiety and works with children and adolescents dealing with depression, poor self-esteem, and emotional dysregulation.

A multi-faceted approach

I use a variety of treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Clinical Hypnosis to ensure my clients get the most appropriate treatment for their needs. I am also trained in Comprehensive Behavior Intervention for Tics (CBIT) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Experiences (SPACE).

My welcoming approach is based on the principles of Carl Rogers and I strive to create a warm, comfortable and non-judgmental environment for my clients.

Working together with parents

I work closely with parents, helping them learn the tools they need to implement and support therapeutic concepts covered during sessions. In addition to the work I do with children and adolescents in session, I meet with parents separately to provide parent education, listen to concerns and brainstorm solutions. Therapy can be a learning process for both children and parents, and when this work is done in tandem, everyone feels supported.

In addition to being a licensed professional counselor, I am a certified school counselor. This dual role has helped me develop the necessary skill set to help parents advocate for their children’s needs in school, which includes attending 504 and IEP meetings to help coordinate educational accommodations. I also work with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure my client’s academic, social and emotional needs are being met. I enjoy collaborating with schools and have found this work to be both meaningful and productive in helping my clients achieve their therapeutic goals.

Insurance

I am an “out-of-network provider” which means I am not “in-network” with any insurance plans. This allows me to maintain a clinical focus on the clients I serve without the time constraints that come along with insurance contracts.

Being a “self-pay” client does not mean that you cannot receive reimbursement for your therapy sessions. I am happy to provide clients with a super bill, which they can then submit to their insurance company for reimbursement from their “out-of-network” (OON) benefits.

Every client’s insurance plan is different, so if you are looking to receive OON reimbursement, you should contact your insurance provider to learn more about your OON benefits.

If you are interested in setting up an appointment for your child, or would like to learn more about my practice, fill out the contact form and I will get in touch with you to discuss your child’s needs.
