A little help goes a long way.

What can I do for you?

Anxiety

As humans, we are hard-wired for anxiety. Children grow up believing that this emotion is "bad" and to be avoided. With proper exploration, this scary feeling can be demystified and young people can learn to embrace, accept and use anxiety to their advantage.

Self-Esteem

It is important for kids to have a safe space to explore emotions connected to their self-image as they embark on the developmental task of solidifying their identity. Being a kid in this world is not easy, but with the right support, children can not just survive challenging experiences, they can thrive.

OCD

OCD often goes undiagnosed in children and teens because it looks so much like anxiety on the surface. In addressing obsessive and compulsive symptoms, it is important to see practitioner who has clinician knowledge and training in this area, as the treatment is counterintuitive and requires expertise and specialization.

Emotional Dysregulation

Emotional dysregulation, which looks similar to misbehavior, stems from a lack of emotional understanding. Coping with strong feelings is a process that can be learned. With the correct information, children and parents can collaborate to problem-solve and work through undesirable feelings.

“Julie has listened to our child and provided a safe environment for her to open up and deal with her anxiety. As a parent, I could not be more proud of the work they have and continue to do. I have seen such growth in her communication and her maturity level and I believe these are reflective of Julie’s counseling.”
